Not So New Writer

Hi Everyone,

I'm excited to get into some sci-fi roleplaying!
While I am new to the forum I am not new to writing or roleplaying.
I have a number of years doing both but have not done roleplaying for about four years.

I'm currently struggling as an independent writer and artist and thought this place would be a great way to ease that creative blockage. I have tonnes of character and setting ideas however I struggle at putting those characters into intriguing situations within those settings.

I'm largely inspired by sci-fi writers like Iain M Banks, William Gibson, Vernor Vinge, Deborah Chester, numerous Star Wars books... I also love the anime series Ergo Proxy, Dennou Coil, The Animatrix, and almost anything by Hayao Miyazaki.
Movies tastes include The Matrix, Donnie Darko, The Bourne Trilogy, Inception, The Fifth Element and Fantastic Mr. Fox.
If there are any threads related to any of these I'd love to know!

My favorite characters of my own design are usually shape shifters or tend to have some type of psychological disorder.

So...
